DAY 4: BEAUNE

Begin your day with a tasty breakfast (included) at Hotel Le Cep.

In the epicurean center at the heart of historic Beaune, your gourmet cooking experience celebrates the connection between the farmer and the cook through hands-on cooking classes and market tours.

Founded in 2008 by mother-daughter duo, Marjorie and Kendall, this program offers hands-on market tours and cooking classes throughout the year with the goal of educating local and international visitors about seasonal ingredients, classic French cooking techniques, and Burgundy’s wine capital.

The program includes a market tour, hands-on cooking class and five-course lunch. A complimentary wine tasting at AP Wine is paired with the menu. However, guests are welcome to purchase a special bottle from the wine shop or bring a favorite bottle of their own. You will meet your guide and chef in the morning to explore the local market where you will select the ingredients for the cooking class. As the class begins, crisp white aprons accompany a glass of chilled crémant, the region’s sparkling wine, in celebration of the bounty of Burgundy.

The menu is seasonal and market-inspired and highlights the small artisan food producers of the region. You will prepare lunch together and learn classic techniques you can use at home. After the cooking class, you will sit down for the long French lunch, in celebration of Burgundy. You will learn the secrets of shopping and cooking as the French do, cooking with the seasons and enjoy a convivial lunch with other like-minded people.
